About RCT: Based in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Rural Community Transportation (RCT) is a nonprofit organization working to ensure that our community members have access to medical appointments, school, work and local programs, services and resources, by offering bus, van and volunteer driver services throughout our rural communities in Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille and Orleans counties.
Position: Our service-oriented, non-profit organization is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to provide high quality administrative support to the RCT operations team. The ideal Operations Support Specialist would be highly organized, proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, able to learn new software quickly, as well as being flexible and a strong communicator.
WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST AT RCT? The Operations Department at RCT is a fast-paced environment with many moving parts. In order to be successful, the Operations Support Specialist should:
· Be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to be flexible and change focus with little to no notice.
· Be highly organized and able to maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with our various funders and stakeholders.
· Be technologically savvy and learn the tools used at RCT quickly including Microsoft Office Suite, RouteMatch dispatch software, FleetMate, and more (it is helpful if you can support others as they learn as well).
· Be a fluent typist as the operations department deals with large amounts of data that requires management in various systems.
· Be detail oriented.
· Understand customer service and the importance of strong customer relationships.
· Be comfortable working as part of a team.
· Be a problem solver who is willing to take initiative on tasks that need to be completed.
· Be flexible and able to make the best use of their time. Time management and the ability to prioritize is essential to success at RCT.
· Make communication a priority and have strong communication skills.
· Demonstrate discretion and good judgement.
· Be patient and resourceful.
· Willing and able to bring positivity and creative ideas to RCT.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Higher education or demonstrated work experience.
- Background check will be required
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, exempt position offering competitive pay and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurances; a 403(b) retirement plan; an Employee Assistance Program; and paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday pay). This position is based out of RCT's Lyndonville, VT headquarters. The position requires travel between RCT locations as well as outlying route assignments in an effort to supervise and interact with driving staff. Work is primarily Monday - Friday, scheduled to meet operational needs. Overtime may be required as necessary to meet operating needs.

Rural Community Transportation (RCT) works to ensure that our community members have access to medical appointments, school, work and local programs, services and resources by offering bus, van and volunteer driver services throughout our rural communities in Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille and Orleans counties.
Position: Van/Bus Drivers provide transportation to passengers with a variety of service needs, as well as fixed-route service to the general public. Full-time van/bus driver positions are currently available, with late-morning to late afternoon/early evening schedules, Monday - Friday; all drivers are required to work occasional weekend hours, on a rotating basis. CDL certification is a preferred qualification, but is not required immediately upon hire; training and support are provided to employees in obtaining CDL certification.
Wages start at $14/hour for non-CDL drivers and $15/hour for drivers with a CDL and passenger endorsement, plus a temporary pay differential due to the pandemic. Full-time compensation also includes paid time off and insurance benefits.
Qualifications and Requirements: Previous commercial driving experience is preferred. CDL is not required; however, this is a preferred qualification and RCT will provide training and support to assist employees in obtaining a CDL with passenger endorsement. Pre-employment and periodic background checks and drug screening are required.

Position: Our service-oriented organization is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Agency’s facilities and operations. Responsible for performing and managing a broad scope of custodial and maintenance functions, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform and coordinate various custodial and maintenance operations at the Agency's three locations. Primary responsibilities will include custodial services, minor building maintenance and upkeep, and contractor oversight.
Qualifications and Requirements: This role requires an individual with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail who is motivated by meeting challenges, creating order, and working as part of dedicated team toward the agency mission.
Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated experience performing the listed job responsibilities. A valid driver's license, clean driving record and proof of insurance is required.
Compensation and Schedule: This is a full-time position offering a competitive rate of pay and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurances, as well as vacation, sick and holiday pay. This position will be based in the Lyndonville RCT office and most work will be performed onsite during regular business hours, Monday – Friday; extended hours may be required occasionally to meet business needs. Travel to outer offices will be required.
