Free Shuttle Routes

The Jay-Lyn, the Highlander, and all shopping routes have deviated routes that are wheelchair accessible, ADA compliant, and open to the general public. If you live within 3/4 mile of a shuttle route and would like to ride the shuttle, please call (802) 748-8170 at least one (1) business day in advance between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm to schedule a ride.

Jay-Lyn Shuttle

A general public route between St. Johnsbury and Lyndonville, making nine (9) round trips per day. Begins at 5:15 am and ends in Lyndonville at 6:10 pm.

The Highlander

A general public route between Newport, Derby and Derby Line that makes four (4) round trips a day starting at the State Garage in Derby at 7:15 am and last departing Derby at 3:40 pm.

The Crown Connection

A community shuttle leaving Lyndonville for East Burke every Friday-Monday starting at 7:10 am dropping off at Burke Base lodge and Burke Hotel, then running loops between East Burke, Burke Mountain Trail Head, East Haven and Darling Hill Road with the last run leaving Burke Mountain Base Lodge and Hotel by 4:30 pm, returning to Lyndonville. This route makes connections with the Jay Lyn to travel from St Johnsbury to East Burke in the morning and returning early evening.

For years I lived in Stanstead, Quebec, right on the border with Derby Line. When we became a one-car family a few years back, getting to work at Northeast Kingdom Human Services in Derby suddenly became an issue. Wake my spouse up to drive me in early? Well, maybe...But right up the street in Derby Line, across from US Customs, is an RCT bus stop. Just a two minute walk from my house! (well, depending upon any interrogation delay at Customs). Always punctual, always friendly, driver and passengers, and right to my front door at work, also a regular stop. Thank you RCT!
